My name is Heidi. I was born in Helsinki and I lived my childhood in a small village in Finland.
I have been teaching Finnish online since 2018. I love teaching and helping people and my goal is to help people to learn Finnish and to raise awareness of the Finnish culture worldwide.

How I Got Here
I began teaching Finnish 4 years ago. I started out providing Skype lectures to expats and people who were simply in love with Finland and the Finnish language. I loved the feeling of helping people with individual lessons!
However, I realized that I wanted to help even more students, and that’s why I started making online courses!
So far, I am very proud to say that I have helped more than 1,000 students from many different countries, and I want to continue to spread the language to everyone who loves it or loves Finland!
How I Got Here
I began teaching Finnish 4 years ago. I started out providing Skype lectures to expats and people who were simply in love with Finland and the Finnish language. I loved the feeling of helping people with individual lessons!
However, I realized that I wanted to help even more students, and that’s why I started making online courses!
So far, I am very proud to say that I have helped more than 500 students from many different countries, and I want to continue to spread the language to everyone who loves it or loves Finland!
Why I Do It
I am a very curious person, always wanting to learn more. I have studied many languages myself: English, Swedish, Spanish, French and Italian to mention a few. I have always found languages and other cultures fascinating and therefore also decided to study English literature and linguistics at the University of Madrid. But, the more I studied other languages and spent time abroad, the more I started to realize the beauty of my native tongue and my roots.
I wanted to help people to learn and improve their Finnish and first I started by giving private one-on-one online lessons. Later on I also taught Finnish to small groups. I have behind me thousands of online lessons and hundreds of happy students who have improved their Finnish a lot with me. Over time, I noticed that I would like to coach even more people if I just had time for it. Therefore, I decided to create self-paced online courses so that I could share my love to my language and to my country!

I love spending time outdoors and exercising.
Like almost every Finn, I went skiing and ice skating when I was little. Nowadays my love for being outdoors drives me to go for hikes and to enjoy the beauty of nature. I also enjoy training at the gym and doing yoga.
I love traveling
I love making trips around Finland and I have visited many Finnish cities by car. Driving by car gives me a sense of freedom and adventure. I also love exploring other countries and have made some trips around Europe.
I love languages
I have always enjoyed studying languages. I find it amazing to communicate with people from all over the world in their native language, and I think it’s a wonderful way to create a connection with people. I speak Finnish, English, and Spanish, but I want to become fluent in French and Italian. Hopefully I will make it!
